When you arrive please consider the following 3 things:
1. Determine parking needs
Floats/Marchers/Vehicles/Animals: Please stop to check in with the volunteer standing at the gate and let them know which group you are with and they will let you know which row to move your float/marchers/vehicle/animal to (see map for details.) Oversize floats will need to park out on Elm St.
Drop off's: Please drop off participants on street or in small lot next to building. (If you need to park, see below)
Participants working on floats and/or people needing parking: Please pull into lot and let volunteer at the gate know that you are a participant and need a place to park your car.
2. Register
Once you have found your assigned spot a representative must check in at the registration table to pick up your parade # and information. This is extremely important so make sure someone visits the registration table soon after arriving!
3. Return to assigned area
Once you have your registration finished please go back to your assigned area and do not leave the 1750 lot until the parade starts.
If your float is going to be judged, you must be at your float no later than 2 p.m. All judging takes place between 2-3 p.m.
Categories- Youth Groups, Service and Social Organizations, Commercial
Criteria- Originality, Creativity and Overall Presentation.
The parade kicks off from 1750 Elm St. parking lot, turn right out of the parking lot onto W. NORTH ST. and right onto ELM ST. You will be given the go ahead by the parade volunteers when it is your turn. Please drive slowly and keep 20-25 yds. between floats.
Parade begins at 4 p.m. and begins lining up at 3:15 p.m. Anyone arriving after 3:15 p.m. will not be allowed to participate.
Please keep your float number visible and on the left side of your windshield at all times. Marching groups should have a lead walker to carry your numbered signs. Please turn in your numbers to the parade volunteer who will be on your left just after you pass the City stage.
No candy may be thrown off of floats but you may have someone walk along the side of your float and hand it out to children.
Do not disembark on ELM ST. (this will cause major backup in the parade)
Floats- At the end of the route, turn right at the Radisson and go down to CANAL ST. , take another right and continue all the way down CANAL ST. until you reach W. NORTH ST. Turn right onto W. NORTH ST. to return into the Brady Sullivan parking lot. Parents may park in the side lot to pick up their children. Please do not park on the street.
Walkers- Turn left at the end of the route ( LAKE AVE. ) Walkers can be picked up anywhere on LAKE AVE. , CHESTNUT ST. or in the Federal Courthouse parking lot.
* Bathrooms - There will be porta potties available in the 1750 parking lot. Please do not use the Brady Sullivan tower bathrooms.
